Honor has officially introduced the X70, a mid-range smartphone built for extended battery life and environmental durability. The device features a high-capacity 8,300 mAh silicon-carbon battery, IP-rated protection, and a high-brightness AMOLED display. The phone is available in China with no word on international availability.

Design and Display

The X70 is engineered to endure tough conditions, offering protection under IP66, IP68, and IP69 certifications. This means it can withstand dust, high-pressure water jets, and full submersion. Honor has also drop-tested the phone from a height of 2.5 meters. Its structure includes a tempered glass screen supported by a dual-layer damping system, a shock-absorbing frame, and a honeycomb bracket for added resilience. The Honor X70 comes in four color options: Phantom Night Black, Bamboo Green, Cinnabar Red, and Moon Shadow White.

The device features a 6.79-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1200 x 2640 pixels. The screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate and delivers a peak brightness of 6,000 nits, ensuring visibility even in direct sunlight. The touch panel remains responsive in heavy rain and while wearing gloves.

Internals and Software

The X70 runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset and is powered by MagicOS 9.0, based on Android 15. It is available in four configurations: 8GB RAM with 128GB storage, 8GB RAM with 256GB storage, 12GB RAM with 256GB storage, and 12GB RAM with 512GB storage. The phone also supports Honor’s YoYo AI assistant, which includes a feature to expel dust and water from the speaker and ports.

Cameras

On the back, the X70 carries a single 50MP wide-angle camera with an f/1.9 aperture, phase detection autofocus, and optical image stabilization. The front camera is an 8MP unit with an f/2.0 aperture, suitable for selfies and video calls.

Battery and Pricing

One of the phone’s most notable features is its 8,300 mAh silicon-carbon battery. All models support 80W wired charging, but only the 12GB RAM with 512GB storage variant supports 80W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging, which is rare on a budget phone.

The 8GB RAM with 128GB storage variant is priced at approximately $193. The 8GB RAM with 256GB storage version costs around $221. The 12GB RAM with 256GB storage model is listed at $248, while the top-tier 12GB RAM with 512GB storage configuration is available for $275.
